What is the name of your state? Illinois

I was recently served for a lawsuit, and since I am going to represent myself for financial reasons, I was wondering if it is possible to have the court location changed. It is now being scheduled in the court downtown, but is it possible to get it switched to the court in the suburb near my area?

Very doubtful that the venue can or will be changed. If this is a Civil case, they are almost always tried in the county/or district in which the defendant resides. The courts are not concerned weather or not it is convenient for the parties' involved.
