Co-signed for a car and im getting sued**************..?

washington.

i co-signed for a car under my name and put my brother as the second owner last year, meaning if he couldn't make a payment then it will fall on me..... he makes well over 45 g a year....anyways he got laid off and his unemployment ran out a couple months ago...... and they repo-ed his car**************..now i got a court order that they will start garnishing it from my pay check......i only make about 1500 a month .....my question is will they make me pay for the whole 9 grand? if he did get a job, would everything like the 9 grand fall on me or it will be 50/50?

This is considered the number 2 reason for credit problems behind credit cards.

he makes well over 45 g a year
Use to make.

anyways he got laid off and his unemployment ran out a couple months ago
This has happened to a lot of folks lately.

and they repo-ed his car
You should make that repo-ed our car.

now i got a court order that they will start garnishing it from my pay check
So you were sued, blew off the summons and the creditor obtained a default judgment. Not a smart thing to do.

i only make about 1500 a month
This is not good for your situation.

my question is will they make me pay for the whole 9 grand and or will they garnish it from my brothers paycheck too?
I thought your brother was unemployed? Was your brother sued too? You don't state this so there is no way anyone could know. If he wasn't, you will be on the hook for the full amount.

will i have to pay more than my brother if it does get garnished from his check?
Again, there is no way to answer this question without more facts.
