What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? South Carolina.
How can we collect when judgment debtor does not own a home, has a 2008 Honda Accord registered at DMV, has a teacher's wage.
Wage garnishment is out. Does the vehicle need to be owned by debtor free of financial lien before we can seize? Can we seize the vehicle. Total debt about $5500.
Please answer ASAP. A decision must be made by tomorrow.

Thank you.

from what I've read, the debtor can exempt $5,150 in equity on his/her vehicle. This exemption amount was raised effective 2008 in S.C.

I don't know if you can sieze the vehicle, but if it is being financed by another creditor, that creditor would have to be paid off first.
