Collecting a debt

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Ohio
I have a promissory note for $15,000 signed by my ex-partner. He has missed 3 payments and says he canno longer pay me. What action can I take?

Hire an attorney and sue. Once a judgment has been awarded you can garnish wages, levy bank accounts, seize non-exempt assets. Judgments last a long time and can usually be renewed.
