Collecting from an ex-girlfriend

What is the name of your state? HI

hi all, first time posting. ok so about a year ago i was going out with this girl and she needed to borrow money for a car, so i lent her 7000, in cash (yeah i know, stupid). so we broke up a couple of months later, and she mentions in emails we send to each other from time to time that she is getting to it and that she will pay me soon. well ive been in some financial trouble recently and ive sent her some emails for the past month with no replies. ive even tried to call her and get no answer. so the thing is i am planning on taking this to a claims court. i will be getting an attorney, what kind of lawyer should i be looking for in terms of area of expertise. i have copies of the emails as proof that this was a loan and not a gift as in most cases of exboyfriend/girlfriend situations. also, the ironic thing is that she works in bank and i lent her the money there, and im pretty sure that they have cameras set up so there is proof that i did infact loan her money. just wanna hear your opinions on this case and whether you guys think i have a strong enough case.

The amount you mentioned here, I would take someone to court for anything over $500-$1,000. The case will more than likely depend on what if any reciepts you can produce, and whom the Judge believes. Much Luck!
