collection account put on credit report after SOL

What is the name of your state? CA
Recently a collection agency, LHR, placed on my credit report an account that was charged off in 10/91. They stated on the credit report that the account was opened in 9/2003. I realize I could fight them to get it off the credit report but I am willing to pay them off to avoid a fight.

If I give them a payment to settle the matter, does the SOL clock restart?
