Collection agencies interest charges?

What is the name of your state? WA

What is the limit for how much a debt collection agency can collect in interest? How do they come up with the $$$ amount after the initial default amount was due?

Collection agencies can charge up to 24% interest in Washington state. Plus they can add on an assortment of fees.
