Collection Agency problem

What is the name of your state?Florida
My former LL wants to charge me for unpaid rent, no notice fees, breach of contract fees when I broke the lease 2 months short of finishing the lease. I left him my deposit and $85.00 to cover the month of June's rent, he rented the apartment the same month of June and charge the other tenants also. I send him a certified letter a year and a month ago disputing the charges and I never heard from him again until now. I just receive a letter from a collection agency from him trying to get all this money which I know by Florida Law he cannot charge. I want to know my legal rights against the collection agency and against this landlord that wants to charge all this money he is not entitle to. Please advice.

Good for him.

Read the terms and condition of your lease -- then read Florida state landlord tenant laws. Then write a check.

Actually, I read the lease and the Florida law and he cannot charge doble for an unit. He cannot charge for normal wear and tear, I left the apartment really clean and he rented it the same month I moved out. No check needs to be written on my part, as a matter of fact, my attorney told me that I may be entitle to my deposit back since the LL is not allowed to charge $660 for no notice fees, $575 for breach of contract and also $575 for unpaid rent. I just wanted to know if he was allowed to charge all the things he wanted to charge me.
