columbia house

What is the name of your state? TN

I got a letter from a collection agency representing columbia house. They say I owe them around $80. I had a columbia house many years ago and to my knowledge it was paid. I also have an account now. I don't think they would've opened a new account if I still owed them monies. Would it be worth my time to ask for validation. I am currently about 2/3 the way through a chapter 13. If debt is indeed valid, I would've incurred it before filing, but it was not listed on my filing since I did not know of its existence.

Any help would be appreciated.

To hell with validation, send them a letter and inform them of your bankrutpcy !! Just because they may not have been notified of the bK does NOT mean that they can get away with violating the automatic stay. Give them the case number, and your lawyer's contact info, let them know they're on thin ice.

I would at least call Columbia House and ask them first what the heck is going on.
