| Contract What is the name of your state? Georgia
Hello:
My cousin (really) entered in to a contract where he bought a car from a local dealership in his area. Well he may have co-signed for someone else. The car was reported stolen by the original owner who lives down in Miami somewhere, and eventually returned to the owner. How the car ended up in the dealship's hand is beyond either of us. My cousin says that the finance company keeps coming after him for the unpaid balance on the car, even though it was stolen and back with the owner. He explained that they took the item off his credit report once only to put it back on there. He's looking to by a home and doesn't want the blemish on there if it doesn't have to be. I told him to order a copy of his credit reports and to dispute the item, but to make sure he gives all the details to his case. I also told him to see if he can get a copy of the police report stating the vehicle was stolen and returned to the owner and submitt a copy to the finance company. Is there anything he can do to make this go away faster? Any and all help any of you can lend will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. |
