Credit Card

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Ga
I owed about 300 dollars on a credit card and failed to pay it They are asking for 1600 now. Now a collection agency is threathing to garnish my wages. What can I do to prevent this from happening.

I'm not sure from your question whether there is a judgement in place or not.
If they have a judgement already not much you can do to stop it except pay judgement in full.

theres not a judgement in place yet.

Then there should be no threat of garnishment...yet.

Look if you only owe about $300, make arrangements to pay it. It will be much less of a headache in the long run. If you drag this on for too long, the $300 will soon be $500 and then on and on.
