Credit card being paid on sent to collections

What is the name of your state? AZ

I have been working with a credit counseling company that has been helping to pay off my credit card debt. They have been paying on a certain credit card since May 2004, these payments have showed on our credit card statement. This week we started to get calls from a collection agency. I thought if you were making payment and it was accepted that an account couldn't be sent to collections?

An original creditor is under no obligation to take less than the amount due. Because they accepted partial payments does not mean they can't continue collection procedures. They are also under no obligation to go by the services you are using's rules. The credit counseling places are usually a rip off and not recommended anyway.
