Credit report, removalWhat is the name of your state?Florida In 2002 I was given permission by my Health insurance provider to have an MRI, I gave the hospital all the pertinent insurance information. They continued to bill Blue/Cross , Blue shield of Florida (my insurance carrier is Blue Cross Blue Shield Empire Plan, NYSHIP) . After numerous notifications to the billing department of the hospital, customer service rep's, and supervisors and in writing that they were billing the wrong insurance company they finally got it straight, however so much time elapsed that my insurance company refused to pay the hospital due to not being billed in the proper time frame......The hospital has since placed a bad credit mark on my credit report**************How can I get this removed since this was not any fault of my own? I contacted the credit reporting company (expierian) and they have yet to respond (6 months). Any help would be appreciated**************Thank you...... |

| Credit bureaus are REQUIRED to respond to ALL disputes within 30 days. However, the problem you have is that every medical facility I know of states that you are responsible for ALL charges at the time of service. The filing of insurance claims is a courtesy to you.. and convenient for them because they get their money directly. While it sounds like the billing office is staffed by idiots, you are ultimately responsible. Claims have to be timely filed or they don't go thru. Do you have documentation to prove that you told the hospital the CORRECT insurance information ?? Unfortunately, now that its on your credit reports, you're going to have one helluva fight to get it off.. the bill IS unpaid so its accurate.

| That looks to me like New York State Health Insurance Plan, ( of NY) if so Google NYHEALTH.GOV I think that is or will lead you to the NYS health board that oversees a lot of this stuff. If you are on a company group plan they can’t do too much for you but possibly your company can. If not a company plan, they should be able to help. There is a whole grievance procedure. If not find the over site body of the state where the insurance comes from. If you can get them to pay, like they should, you could end up listed as a late payer. Big difference from not paying. |
