Criminal Financial Obligations

What is the name of your state? Washington State

I posted a while back, but I realized I left out some things..so I'm trying again:

I had done a stupid thing back in 1982 which resulted in a criminal judgement. Restitution was ordered which I paid, but cannot locate the paperwork. Last contact with the State of Washington was in 1985 when the debt was paid-off. I have not heard a thing from the State for over 20 years. A month ago, I received a collection letter from the State stating that I must pay a fixed month payment towards this restitution or further collection action would commence. I sent the standard validation letter to them. Their response was just restating that I owed them money.

In the SOL chart, Washington State has a maximum 10 year max. with a "yes" for renewel. I cannot find how often it can be renewed or if it even applies to crimnal financial obligations.

Any clues?

If you paid the restitution, there should be a record of that with the court. Try contacting the court.

Obviously I did with the Validation letter. The SOL question is what I'm interested in. Does the SOL on judgements pertain to criminal restitution as well? Reference my post above.

I don't believe there IS an SOL on criminal restitution.
