Dealing with Arrow Financial

What is the name of your state? California

Arrow Financial has bought a past CC debt of mine. Due to bad judgement I ignored them for a while and they keep threatening to sue me. I have decided that I would like to try to negotiate a settlement with them but i am unsure of the best way to go about it. The debt is for about 12k. I am currently unemployed but could come up with at most 3500 but would like to settle for closer to 2500. Does anyone think this is doable or just wishful thinking? I don't want to find a job and get sued and have my wages garnished if at alll possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Wishful thinking.

You might be able to settle for up to 50 or 60 percent of the balance if you have cash in hand -- but I'd kind of doubt it.
