| Debit is paid...Can bank refuse to release Judgement?

In 1999 a Judgement was filed against me for an unpaid signature loan. The account has since been assigned to a collection agency. The collection agency has agreed to settle for less than the full amount and consider the debt paid. However, the bank is refusing to release the judgement because they want more money! If I pay the collection agency and they send me a letter stating that the debt is paid, does the bank have to release the judegement? |
