Debt collectionWhat is the name of your state? North Carolina. I had a debt charged off my account in 1996 when I was in California. At the time the debt was about $2,000. It is now 2004. I have paid over 4,000, but because of interest they say I still owe them 2,300. If this debt is no longer on my credit report would it hurt me and any way if I no longer make payments? |

| Nope, it would not, it can NOT go back on your reports once it has dropped off. However, now you have to wait out the SOL all over again - 3 years in NC.
