I have a supposed law firm threatening to sue me over a credit card debt that is 15 years old. Is there a statute of limitations that these are just scare tactics or should I settle out of court

The Wisconsin statute of limitations is 6 years. Look up your statutes. It starts with Section 893.01.

Its WAY past the statute of limitations. Tell them that and tell them to stop contacting you.

*Assuming the statute hasn't been tolled, that you haven't reaffirmed the debt, and that the date of delinquency (not the date you last used the card or the date you got it) really is ~15 years ago*

Then yes, this debt is beyond the Statute of Limitations for revolving credit debts, which is a strong defense in the case of a lawsuit.
