Debt collection from abroadWhat is the name of your state? Florida I ran up some debts when I lived in the UK. They have a collection agency after me here. Can I insist on only dealing with the creditor in the UK rather than the collection agency here? The FDCPA says that I can be taken to court in my local jurisdiction or where the contract was signed, as it was signed in the UK can I insist on the court hearing there? |

Go this website to find instructions and samples for how to dispute: http://www.creditinfocenter.com/creditreports/ Sometimes errors are easy to remove and sometimes they stick like glue. It is inexpensive to try and not difficult. I am NOT a creditor-debtor lawyer; stand by for further help. I am NOT vouching for the accuracy of these websites! |
