debt collections phone calls

What is the name of your state? Oklahoma

I keep receiving phone messages at home for my husband from a company called Asset Acceptance, its just a recorded message that says to call a 1800 number. My husband doesn't owe on any debt and his credit report is clear. How do I get these people to stop calling our house? We have never received anything in the mail from them stating what this debt they claim is in regards to, nor have we received any calls from a "live" person, just a computer generated message. Thanks in advance for any advice.
Thanks,
A

Your husband could try a novel approach. It's pretty radical, but it MIGHT just work.

He could CALL them.

Yes I agree that would be an option but he is currently deployed to Iraq and doesn't get much time to spend on the phone.

Understandable -
Perhaps YOU can call and explain to them that he is deployed but that you would be happy to forward correspondence, etc.

ok, you call the number back tell them you keep getting and automated service call from them, they will ask for your number and look up the account, then tell them your husband is in IRAQ and can not take these calls and you will have him contact them when he gets back in the US.

Go ahead and call them back. There's a good chance that they have the wrong number and/or person; if so, you may be able to get them to remove you from the speed dial system that keeps calling you.
