Creditors rarely go to court. The hire attorneys to represent them. Some collection law firms file suit on behalf of their original creditor clients.
Look closely at the summons and complaint. On the first page, near the top, just above your name (as defendant) will be the name of the Plaintiff -- that is the party suing you.
It is possible that you are being sued by the original creditor or by a debt buyer who purchased the debt from the original creditor.
If you think the summons and complaint might be bogus, call the courthouse and speak to the court clerk. Ask them to check for any lawsuit pending against Savannah. They will tell you and will tell you the filing date.
If you think the debt buyer may not be the proper party, call the original creditor and ask to whom they sold the debt. They will tell you.
