Debt not owed

In Virginia. Please help me out here a mail order drug company we'll call "Caremark" has billed me for drugs that i never received and they said because i called and notified them 2 days outside the 30 day time limit i am responsible for paying this debt and i am now receiving letters and calls from a collection agency. Is there any recourse i have? I hate to pay for something i never received.
