Debt Payment/collectionWhat is the name of your state? New Mexico Can an agency demand a higher payment if regular payments are being made and that is all one can afford? I've heard from some that if the agency cannot accept your payment that one can have the debt cancelled. Please help??????? |

| That is a myth. They have the right to refuse your payment if you are in default on a debt and isn't the full amount they want. They can sue you or pursue and other legal means to collect the money they want.
