default judgmentWhat is the name of your state? SD Would a general contractor be legally obligated to hold the pay of a subcontractor that has a default judgment against him if the judgment was presented to the general contractor. Also prior to judgment, would the general contractor need to honor a writ of attachment against the subcontractor? |

| Thankyou for your answer. To complicate the matter a bit the contract is being done on an airforce base in SD. Ellsworth which looks like it is going to stay! The general contractor issues checks to their sub contractors from a corporate office in Utah. Will the answer still be yes to both? And is there any other steps that would need to be taken to have the writ of attachment or judgment honored by the corporate offices of the general contractor? |

| You didn't bother to tell us the Feds were involved. Thus, the answer is, "I don't know the answer." |
