I went through the same thing with my ex's creditors. For the first six months my teenagers and I would just say politely that Mr. X "no longer lives here" and that would stop them for awhile. Then when his creditors started calling on my daughter's phone line I finally had enough. I started giving them his new number at first. Whenever a creditor would call back (by this time they were all CA's) and complain that he wasn't answering the phone I would give them his address as well. In your case with each phone call I would not only give you ex's number (I would not give them his work number - at least at first, unless a particular credit persists in calling you after you have provided your ex's home phone number), I would ask for their address (creditor's address) as well so you can send them a certified letter.

Keep in mind that if you had any joint debt that he may have been assigned to pay in the property settlement and he does declare bk the creditors will come after you.

I would advise to you to obtain all three credit reports (Equifax, Experian, Transunion) if you haven't so recently and see where you stand. But it would be of limited use to contact them unless you need to dispute any of your own entries. I also would not contact the police unless you find you have been the victim of identity theft.
