I am in California, my ex-husband's last address is in Idaho.

Debt collectors are starting to call my house, looking for my ex-husband from whom I've been divorced and haven't seen in 15 years. How can I get them to stop? Do I need to call them all back or can I have a notation made on my credit report through the reporting agencies?

Complicating matters is that I can't refer them back to my ex: according to his local police department, he's been reported missing. I found out about this terrible news when they contacted me in their search.

Call them back and tell them the truth, otherwise they will just keep calling you in a valid attempt to find him. Once you speak to them, they should stop.
