Exclamation

EX-Nightmare

What is the name of your state? Texas

My wife's ex-husband would not allow her to work. She was a stay at home mom with 4 children for the 9 years and 4 months of thier marraige. He payed or did not pay the bills and she did not have a hand in any money management. They divorced in "03 and we married in Dec. of '04. He filed bankruptcy in '04 and now all the creditors and debt collectors are coming after my wife since she was a co-signer. He racked up some very substantial balances. I didn't mention that he didn't pay any bills after Sept. of '00. What remedy do I/We have if any to clear her credit report, or do we have a case against him? Looking for answers...

She may have to file bankruptcy since she was liable for the debts.

The only way to "clear" her credit report would be to pay her bills.

Another option is for her to check the judgment in her lawsuit and see if hubby was responsible for paying the debts. If so, it is possible to get him for contempt.

In other words, she needs a lawyer yesterday.
