Ex Not Paying Share Of Child's Bills

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Ohio

I have been divorced for 9 years. The decree stipulates that my ex wife and I are to split the medical expenses for our daughter after she pays $100.00 of the expenses for the year. I was told by the county CSEA to contact the medical provider direct to find out how to pay them my half. I include copies of the decree and who I spoke with.

I was contacted last week by a collections agency that my ex had not paid her half of a bill, and that I am responsible for paying the WHOLE balance, if I dont want my credit adversely affected! I called the CSEA and they told me I would need to file a complaint against my ex. Upon checking my credit report, I discovered 7 collections indicators have been put on my report!

Is this correct that even though I have already paid my half, and she doesnt, I am now legally obligated to pay the whole amount?

They don't give a rat's ass WHO pays half of squat.

All they know, is that you owe them money and they want it!!!! Are you listed as the guarantor on your child's account? Probably you are - and that makes you 100% liable for the bills**************.... the receptionist at the doctor's office does not know your personal divorce details, nor is it her job to know that.

You're going to have to pay it, and go after your ex-wife for her portion of the bills...... if I was you, I'd see about taking liability and have your child suppoer payments reflect such the matter.

Good luck either way

Take your ex back to court on contempt charges for violating your divorce decree.
