Question

Guy trying to sue me for cost of untaken trip

ILLINOIS-A guy I used to date invited me to go to Las Vegas in August 2004. He gave me a money order for $430 to purchase tickets on line. I deposited money in my checking acct. and purchased the tickets on my debit Mastercard. The flights were cheap so they were non-refundable, but could still be used within a year if trip was cancelled. He assumed we were going to be intimate on the trip and I informed him that I never agreed to that since we had never been intimate before. He decided to cancel the trip because of the no intimacy. He called me approx. 2 weeks later and asked me out to dinner. I told him no. He also said that I could use some of the credit from the unused trip to travel if I wanted. Told him ok and proceeded to get me phone number changed so that he could leave me alone. Yesterday, I get a letter from his attorney saying that I owe him $430. I used $130 of the credit to help fund a trip to VA back in Dec. and I paid the rest of the fare myself. He has moved the the balance of the credit which is $300 around by booking 2 trips with 2 different confirmation numbers. I called the airline last night and got all of the information, including him cancelling the trip back in Aug. and him booking trips but not taking them. His attorney is giving me 10 days to respond to set up pay arrangements for the $430. Is this a valid case?

Do not talk to either of these jerks. If he or the attorney ever contact you again, tell them:

1 Bite rocks

and

B You have turned ex over to the cops for soliciting prostitution and you have the docs to prove it.

here is my advise

dont panic! You didnt do ANYTHING wrong, and you have to remember that! Now - i agree with the previous responder regarding counter-motion of sexual harrastment - he wount be able to prove otherwise that he DIDNT want you to solicit prostitution in the first place...
