Hello!
Given the following the situation: an international student took credit through a federal credit union to complete graduate program.
The website of the institution says: "Federal Credit Union's private student loan".
The questions are:
1. Are federal credit loans private loans?
2. If unable to pay, in what way do the creditors may act to recover their claim if the student
is non-US resident and lives abroad?
3. Are private student loans subject to "statute of limitations" so if the creditor doesn't fill a lawsuit
in a number of years ( typically 6 ) you become debt free?
