a friend wants money

What is the name of your state?Ohio

A friend and I who converse online (he is in Utah) sent me some cash to be helpful, as I am destitute with no income or assets. He started an argument and e mailed and said send the money back. Do I have to? I certainly plan not to.

Weeellll... if there was nothing in writing in the form of an agreement for you to pay him back, then he would have a hard time proving in court (if he sued to get the money back) that it was not just a gift. If you have emails that clearly show he offered the money to help you out with no expectation of being paid back, then its a gift and any court case would be a "he said, she said" situation.

SHOULD you give it back ?? That's really up to YOU and your conscience.

My conscience allows me too keep it just fine, as it was understood it is for clothing for my son, who has grown out of all his pants and needs clothes. There is no reason to return it. I don't know how someone sues someone in another state; I have no money to travel to another state, nor any assets to take or garnish. It was his idea to pursue a line of e mailing consisting mainly of telling me Jesus wants me to be mormon and satan is after me, etc. which started the argument, with him accusing me of only e mailing him for money.

Can I come after you, too? I only want your boobs. It would be great if you were also a natural redhead.

Aaah.. ok.. that explains why that 4-letter combination is bleeped out of every single word that contains it !

Guess I missed a few things while I was away from here for a while.
