Garnishment and credit reportI am living in wisconsin and we just got a garnishment for an outstanding debt. I was wondering how long does it stay on your credit report? once it is paid up does it come off? |

| The garnishment isn't on your credit report. The collections stays on your credit report, I think, for 7 years past the date of last activity, which, in your case, will be the date after the last payment. You should have negotiated to "pay for delete".

| The judgment behind the garnishment will stay on your credit report 10 years. DC

| Yep - 10 yrs. The judgment (allowing the garnishment) can be reported for 7 years or until SOL runs out whichever is longer - SOL on judgment in Wi is 10 yrs.
