Garnishment Question

What is the name of your state? WI

A collection agency won a summary judgement against me a short time ago. I have not yet received any documenation from the court regarding the judgement nor has any appeal period expired. I have been served notice by the court of a garnishment action against me because the civil action has gone unpaid. Isn't there some time frame required before garnishment action or doesn't some type of reasonable collection effort have to be made before the garnishment action? The judges gavel has hardly even hit the desk in the summary judgement! How should I respond to the garnishment notice?

They DO have to wait until the specified appeal period is up. This varies by state so you'd have to look it up. IF the appeal period hasn't expired, they're jumping the gun with an execution.

No they don't, Red Lady. The second a judgment is entered upon the docket, it's wabbit season and duck season.

Like the majority of states, Lady Marmalade, he'd have to beg the court for a stay and post a bond to secure the judgment. In other words, he should be catching the first Air Canada flight out of Green Bay. But what's any of this have to do with your love handles and MC Hammer?

All these years, and you still have a major problem with MC Hammer's genie pants. Just let it go.
