Garnishment of wages

Washington State.

My situation is: my husband's company has received a writ of garnishment for continuing lien on earnings for my brother. It is from a collection agency. What are the ramifications of not replying to it?

You could be liable for the money that should have been garnished. Also the garnishment is an order from the court and judges, as a rule, tend to dislike being ignored. At the far end, contempt of court could garner some jail time - but I think that is unlikely.
