| | Help for disabled Daughter What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Missouri...
My daughter is a veteran and on full disability. She has been in and out of pshychiatric wards for several years. I found out today that a year ago she went to a Title loan company and I believe borrowed $1,000. She apparently did make a payment but did not continue the payment. Yesterday they repossessed her only means of transportation. She made this agreement while in a manic state. She only borrowed $1,000..the car is worth 10,000. They want 3,000 to get the car back but apparently have changed that figure each time we call. The company name is Quick Cash in Springfield Missouri. I need some recommendations as to what to do here. I am her father and want to have legal information regarding what rights we have and if her being mentally ill would be some kind of defense to get her car back. |

Originally Posted by CAT ANDERSON I need some recommendations as to what to do here. | Get out your checkbook. Pay off the loan. You could buy the car from her and loan it to her. But I would recommend you discuss that with your attorney as liability for loaning a mentally ill person a car could be rather high. Or you could just buy her a bus pass - Springfield has a pretty good bus system. I went to college there many years ago.

| | | If they are forced to sell her car, your daughter will get back all the surplus monies from the proceeds of the sale. |
