help with judgement

What is the name of your state? Alabama
Default Judgement was received when I was out of Town working in another state. My mail was forwarded and I filled out papers, the opposing attorney contacted me and I was told that it could be settled by paying what was owed on the promissary note, he would talk to his clients and get back with me. Maybe I made a mistake for trusting him and being honest with him about me being out of state at the time. When I got back in town, I went to the clerks office and they told me the 30 days were up. What do I do now???

talk to an attorney, but you may be screwed.
