Hide property.good or bad idea?

What is the name of your state? new york

Ok. My roommate can't afford to pay her credit card debt.
It looks like the city marshal is going to come soon to seize her "non exempt personal property".
There are a few non exempt things that she does not want to hand over.
In my conversation with her I told her she could try to put it in storage before the marshal comes & then bring it back after they left. But I did'nt know if this would work or if it's even legal.
Do you think this would work? Meaning the marshal takes her stuff & then they're appeased & never come back to check for more stuff?

1-how long would she have to hide her stuff in storage?
2-Is there a deadline for the marshal to seize her stuff? Like let's say 90 days?

Bad idea! We won't help anyone do something that is against the law -- she should not hide any non-exempt assets.

Hiding property is a VERY bad idea, and could put her in VERY big trouble.

I gave you the NY exemptions in your first thread. What is it that does NOT fall under the exemptions ??? Most people lose NOTHING. She could stop the whole process if she would make SOME arrangment to make payments. Does she work ? CAN she work ? Can she sell anything ??
