How to Collect from a Lawyer?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NJ

Last year I had disputed the fee that was charged by my lawyer and filed a case with the NJ Ethics/Fee Dispute and Arbitration committee.
The arbitration committee gave a decision that the lawyer should refund me $2500. This was appealed by the lawyer to the NJ Attorney Ethics office who dismissed the appeal as baseless.

The attorney still has not paid me amount that was awarded by Ethics/Fee Dispute Arbitration Committee.

What are my options?
How can I collect from an attorney?

Since you already went through the arbitration process, you should already have been to this web site for the NJ Office of Attorney Ethics:

Near the bottom it says he has 30 days to pay. That deadline was temporarily put on hold during the appeal. If he doesn't pay, then you work with the Office to get his law license suspended. That should make him pay attention to you unless he was planning on retiring.

Update - The fee arbiration committe sent the lawyer a letter that if he does not return the money in 10 days they will file a motion to temporarily suspend him.

10 days have past but no check.

Do these temporary suspensions from fee arbitration work?

Can I get a judgment on the fee arbitration ruling to collect the money?

Any lawyers on this forum dealt with fee arbitration or attorney ethics ??
