How do I collect a debt?Texas Hello, I am trying to collect a debt from a person for the approximate amount of $1000.00. The problem is this person refuses to pay and has moved from his/her residency 4 times (according to the post master). All that I am left with is a P.O. Box. Unfortunately, to file a small claims suit I have to know the persons current residency so the court can serve the individual. The court will not accept a P.O. Box. I have called the FTC who in turn sent me to the Consumer Protection Agency, who in turn forwarded me to the District Attorney. The District Attorney told me to call the police. Needless to say it seem very difficult to collect debts owed. Can anyone give me a hint on what I should do? Calling thee police just does not sound like the right answer. | Because you failed to tell what state you are in, you don't get an answer.

| Well, you can forget wage garnishment as it isn't allowed in TX. TX also has a generous homestead law (although if the person has moved several times it is doubtful that they own real property). |

Simply, print out and complete the form at: http://www.tcpalaw.com/free/pobox.pdf Then, mail it to the postmaster at the zip code where the defendant has the box.

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport! |

| Texas In the letter from "http://www.tcpalaw.com/free/pobox.pdf" It states, "Statute or regulation that empowers me to serve process" meaning that I need to list the statue. What would the statue be for failure to pay debt? Regards, Sam Quote:
