I was served after the case was dismissed

What is the name of your state? CA

When I go on the Court's website, and enter the Case#, the following information is available ...

Filing Date: 07/09/2004
Case Type: Other Promissory Note/Collections (General Jurisdiction)
Status: Dismissed-Other 08/17/2004

Documents Filed (Filing dates listed in descending order)

10/25/2004 Proof of Service-Summons & Com Filed by Attorney-Plaintiff

08/17/2004 Request-Dismissal (ENTIRE ACTION WITHOUT PREJUDICE )

07/09/2004 Complaint

Why would they continue to try and serve me after they filed a dismissal request and register it with the court ?

Do I still need to answer the compliant ?

Can they reactivate the compliant ?
