Is this illegal? What is the name of your state? South Carolina I received bills from a collector stating that I had 30 days to dispute. I sent them a letter return receipt disputing and they neveranswered me and then went ahead and placed it on the credit. Isnt that a violation?

| Once something is with a collection agency it's usually ALREADY on your credit report. If the debt isn't yours and you want it removed from your credit report, you dispute it with the credit reporting agency, not the collections agency who owns the debt. |
