I'm being suedWhat is the name of your state? Oklahoma I'm being sued by a credit card company. I cannot afford to get a lawyer, if I could I would be paying my credit card bills. What I need to know is do I have to get a lawyer? Can I just make some kind of a payment arrangement when it goes to court, or are they going to garnish my wages. I will probably lose my job if I have a garnishment. What should I do? Last edited by msjackson2424; 03-04-2008 at 02:34 PM. Reason: hit the wrong button |

| No. You don't have to get a lawyer. Several questions first. 1. How much money are we talking about? 2. How old is this debt -- specifically, when did you last make a payment on the debt? 3. Do you have other unsecured debts? If so, how much? 4. When is the answer due on this lawsuit? 5. Who is the creditor suing you? If you will answer this, we might be able to point you in the right direction. |
