incorrect debt collectionWhat is the name of your state? MT I am being contacted by a debt collection agency about a debt they claim I have through a book order company. They say that I owe $83.00I do not agree that I have this debt. I discussed it with the company a few months ago and stated that I needed a list of all my transactions so that I could see if I could figure out the problem. They never sent me this information, and all of the sudden I am being contacted by this collection agency. The agency faxed me a copy of what I supposedly bought and the amounts they say they received. I have proof that proves that I paid all amounts in full. I am just waiting to get the cancelled checks to prove it. In the mean time, I am concerned that this will affect my credit report. I think that it is totally wrong for them to accuse me of oweing them money, and report it to the credit bureau, when it was their shoddy accounting that caused the problem in the first place. Is there anyway that I can make them recant their reporting to my credit, once I send them the proof I have? I really don't think it is right that I should suffer for a mistake they have made. ![]() |
