judgement

What is the name of your state? North Carolina

I have a debt owed to a company that has taken legal action against me the court awarded the judgement, I received a notice from the plantiff that was delived by sheriffs office on a notice of right to have exemptions designated, on the form it said a judgment has been entered against me in which i have been ordered to pay money over to the judgment creditor block was checked what should i do with this matter

Learn what your exemptions are for your state. Exemptions are assets that cannot be taken from you to satisfy a judgment They also include limitations on assets, - eg. only a certain percentage of wages or les a certain percentage of equity in a vehicle. Your local court should be able to provide the information. If not, try legal aid or search on the Internet.

Without a voluntary payment agreement with your creditor, prepare to have him/her/it try to satisfy the judgment by taking all non-exempt assets.
