judgement collection

What is the name of your state?arizona

I have a long standing battle with a former tenant. He has a lien on my property since 10-03. I am unable to refinance or sell the property. I have paid over $18,000 in legal fees, owe another $8,500 and still no resolution.

In the past he won a judgement against me for $1800.00. He has "sold" the judgement to his brother, but is now suing me to collect and wants five years of personal info.

My question is who has the right to try to collect the judgement now? Is it the original person or the one who recieved it?

Not really an answer or even help, but sorry, I couldnt stop myself. He has a judgement lein against your home for less than $2K and you have spent $26K fighting it???????????? Isnt that kind of like shooting yourself in the head to prove you know how to use a gun?

Well...you are correct so no need to apologize!

I was trying to answer the question according to what little I could glean from the post...which was not much.

Thanks.

The ONLY person who has the legal 'right' to enforce the judgment.... and more importantly, be able to sign and submit a 'Satisfaction of Judgment' on payment, is the current Judgment Creditor.
Contact the court and ask them to advise you if the judgment is still OWNED by the original plaintiff, or if someone else has recorded an 'Assignment of Judgment' transferring ownership to them.

Then pay whoever the OWNER is (as noted with the court).

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

Judgment

If he has assigned the judgment to his brother, then his brother has the legal right to pursue collection of the judgment. Check with the court where the judgment is filed and see if he has assigned it (he would have to do that with the sale of it as well). If not, you can tell the brother to bunk it!

Nah.... that is because 'Fat Tony' is just another reincarnation of an oft-kicked-off forum troll who offers NO benefit to this forum.... except to try to cause problems.

Wow, that search button is amazing. You can go back and see all your old posts including the snide remarks made by the most superior poster of them all, JetX. Actually Jet, I had a pretty valid question in this thread to the OP, which was never answered, and I've only been kicked off of this forum once, which was for using profanity, not because I offer no benefit. Sorry we cant all be elitists like yourself, but if we all were, who would you have to look down on? You know the funny thing? Jet is probably like that kid off the movie "The Score" with Robert Deniro and Marlon Brando in it. Sitting in his mommy's basement 24 hours a day on his computers, thinking hes the most intelligent person on the planet, yet hasnt seen daylight since he bought his first PC and signed up for his AOL account in 1997. What are your credentials Jet? What makes you so qualified to post here and nobody else? Im just curious here, because with your half a million posts, you sure have the answer to everything. What qualifies you?
