Judgement collection on SSI Payments

Missouri.
I am on SSI and thats my only income. I had 2 bank accounts. (1 savings, 1 checking) I am and have been very ill so as a protection I added another person as a signer on my accounts so my bills could be paid if I was unable to do so. Yesterday my accounts were taken ($0.00 balance now) and I was told by the Bank they were taken because the friend I had as a signer on the accounts had a civil judgement against him. This not only wiped out both accounts but also will take my SSI payment when I get it on the first of the month.

This is not my debt, SSI is my only income and the lawfirm handleing the case on behalf the the debt says they can not talk to me since I was not listed on the case.

What can I do - no money next month - no drugs can be baught - I'll become very ill and may not live through it all?

Can they Bank on behalf of a creditor take all of my SSI income for someone elses debt?

Close the account and have SSI mailed to you in the mail.
You can always find places to cash your check.

If for some reason you cannot close the account,
just stop SSI from going to that account,
and have SSI mailed to you instead.
