 Judgement on credit report from old landlord

My wife and I are in the middle of buying a new home. We both have good credit scores over 700 for one and over 800 for the other. My wife does have a judgement on her report from a dispute with an old landlord that went to court in 1998. The result of the case was for my wife to pay $700. The amount was paid but the court record does not show the case complete so the judgement shows up on the credit report. We have a bank statement that shows the amount was paid at that time but it does not show to who. The bank purged there data and does not have the canceled check. Other credit agencies haved remove the judgement from reports.
What is the best way to resolve this with our lender who is asking for proof of satisfied judgement? |
