Judgment in Court and BankruptcyWhat is the name of your state? Illinois I anticipated being named in a lawsuit by a nursing home company to collect outstanding debt. If I fight the suit in court and I lose, the court will enter a judgment against me. My question is: If I get served the lawsuit, should I just file for bankruptcy as the amount in question is very large. If a court enters a judgment against me, will I still have the ability to file for bankruptcy? Thanks in advance for your reply. |

My response: Why would you be sued? Were you the signatory to the contract? IAAL |
