Labor Judgment unpaid, need collection advice

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CALIFORNIA

November of 2006 I received a judgment from the CA labor board stating that my previous employer whom I filed a labor dispute about, owes me $5,500. I have not received any word or correspondence from my previous employer or the labor board. I am looking for ways to collect the money. I have the defendant's home address, car license plate number, and name. The judgment states the defendant is the company AND the individual, jointly and severally. Would the best idea be to contact a collection agency that specializes in this? if so does anyone have any to recommend? I really appreciate the time and help!
