Landlord took my money and I need it backWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? IOWA So, actually, I've consulted with an attorney regarding the next steps to take but I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find written law on this. Long story short, my landlord took extra money from me and is refusing to return the overpayment. They claim they had to collect and pass the money on to the previous tenant for the prorated rent he didn't use (I moved in mid-month) however we had already worked out an arrangement and changed the lease to forgo that month's rent. They took too much and won't give it back. Where can I find written law on that? |

| If the LL violated a contractual agreement, you would need to sue (in small claims court in this case)
